SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER IN OUR CLASS!

We love volunteers! It would be wonderful to have you join our crew to listen to student read, or to help with writing and math skills.

EDUCATIONAL WEBSITES ARE A GREAT WAY TO LEARN NEW THINGS AND PRACTICE SKILLS SUCH AS MULTIPLICATION FACTS.  LOOK ON THE HOMEWORK PAGE FOR SOME FUN AND EDUCATIONAL LINKS.

Mathematics
Language Arts

Our Mathematics program centers on the use of manipulatives and smart board lessons to learn concepts taught in our students general education math class as well as on their IEP goals.  Khan Academy is a great source for lessons on different subjects that students can watch and rewatch at their own pace. Many students have mentioned how these videos and practice pages have helped them to master concepts that they are having difficulty with.  Any parent who would like to help with math tutoring is encouraged to volunteer on Tuesdays and Thursdays during periods 3, 4, and 5.

Our curriculum in Language Arts centers on the Slingerland, Simultaneous Multisensory Language Program and our Paragraph of the Week writing exercises.  Any one wishing to volunteer with our Language Arts program is encouraged to volunteer on a Monday or Friday.  Wednesdays, our minimum days, are primarily dedicated to backpack  and notebook organization, planner updating and making up missing assignments.  This is often a great time for volunteers to come in so that students can have more personal attention.
